Sonia Hussain’s film “Bubli/Babar” selected for Cannes Film Festival

Pakistani actress Sonia Hussain has achieved international success in her production debut. Her film Babli/Babar has been selected for the Cannes World Film Festival, having been selected from thousands of international entries.

Babli/Babar is directed by Kamran Faiq and written by Qureb Abbas, while the producers are Ramsha Amjad and Abdullah Kamran. The film features new faces such as Hasnain Rana, Tanveer Syed, Zeeshan Haider, Fahad Hashmi, Usman Chaudhry, Razia Malik and Umtisaal Hussain.

Sonia Hussain informed her fans about this huge success through her Instagram post. She said, “It is a moment of immense joy for me that my first produced film has got a place in a prestigious film festival like Cannes. This is a huge success not only for our team but also for Pakistani cinema.”

Sonia credited the film’s director Kamran Faiq and other members of her team for this success. “This success is due to the extraordinary hard work and vision of our director Kamran Faiq,” he wrote. “Also, thanks to producers Rimsha Amjad and Abdullah Kamran who poured their lives into this project.”

Babli/Babar is not only a milestone in Sonia Hussain’s career, but also a great example of bringing Pakistani stories to the world.
