Using videos without permission, Indian news agency sues Netflix

Mumbai: Indian news agency ANI has filed a case against popular streaming service Netflix.

ANI alleged that their videos were used without permission in the web series ‘Kandahar Hijack’.

The news agency demanded that Netflix remove the four episodes that contained their content.

ANI’s legal counsel said that Netflix used their ‘copyrighted footage’ and ‘trademark’.

Earlier, there was a controversy over the use of the names Bhola and Shankar for the hijackers in the web series, after which Netflix India changed the disclaimer for viewers and added the real and code names of the hijackers.
