Mumbai: BJP has slammed actress and MP Kangana Ranaut for making controversial statements on farmers’ protests.
According to Indian media, the BJP clarified that Kangana Ranaut’s statements do not represent the views of the party and the party does not agree with them.
Kangana Ranaut had spoken of the farmers’ protest as the cause of a Bangladesh-like crisis in India, to which the BJP leadership expressed displeasure.
The BJP said Kangana has not been authorized to speak on policy matters and has been barred from making such statements in the future.
BJP leaders from Punjab and Haryana have also banned Kangana from making inflammatory statements.
