In the difficult early days of his career, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan was paid Rs 500 for a role, but he himself got his scene deleted from the film.
According to Indian media, this incident was narrated by Amitabh Bachchan himself. He says that in 1978, he received Rs 500 for playing a short role in the film Junoon.
According to Amitabh, there was also a scene of Shashi Kapoor’s death in this film, in which a crowd had to be gathered. I was also included in this crowd.
The legendary actor said that I was not happy to see myself in the crowd and I also requested the film director to delete that scene.
Amitabh Bachchan further said that Shashi Kapoor had also advised me not to do such small roles, you are made for big things.
Shashi Kapoor’s words proved to be absolutely correct and things changed for Amitabh Bachchan when he was offered the lead role in Zanjeer, which became a blockbuster and established his image as an ‘Angry Young Man’.
Amitabh Bachchan later worked with Shashi Kapoor and the two gave many successful films together, including Kala Pathar, Shaan, Namak Halal and Akeela.
Later, Shashi Kapoor again requested the director to delete Amitabh Bachchan’s scenes.
